We recommend inquiring as soon as you decide you love our work, and then we recommend booking us as soon as you decide you also love us and the way we do things. Most couples book their wedding 9-18 months in advance but if we are available on shorter notice, that’s okay too. The further ahead you inquire, the more likely your date is available.
Before you book, you will know exactly who your photographer is. If you need multiple photographers, rest assured, we work with only the best and fly someone in at our expense if a preferred local is not available.
Full-day events generally take 4-6 weeks, corporate events 1-2 weeks, and portraits 2-3 weeks. If you have a deadline, please specify before booking and we may be able to accommodate - rush processing may apply.
Typically, 800+ for a 10hr wedding with two photographers and 60+ for a 2hr on-location portrait session, however we do not guarantee any particular number as this varies greatly, depending on many factors.
Tangible prints are the way photographs are meant to be seen. We offer a variety of luxurious fine-art prints and albums to choose from, and will help guide you through the entire process.
Our goal when shooting a wedding is to capture the day with a respectful approach, unobtrusively and efficiently. While we always bring more than necessary for the sake of being prepared and having backups, we only use what’s appropriate. Typically Kurtis shoots with a pair of Nikon bodies with an array of Nikon lenses. His favorite lenses are the 35 1.4 and 85 1.4, but he also has the 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8, 20 1.4, and 50 1.4 at his disposal. Most photographs are made with available light, but an array of wireless speedlights and studio strobes are used as needed. Portable LED lights are often used when shooting details and occasionally during wedding receptions. Our Profoto studio flashes and selection of Profoto light modifiers are usually reserved for on-location portraits (i.e. bridal session) and editorial / commercial assignments.
Yes, we have a beautiful natural light photo studio just minutes outside of downtown San Antonio, and we can pull the sheers and/or blackout curtains to shape or eliminate the natural light for when we want to break out the big studio lighting. The studio is also outfitted with a projection system for our in-person consultations and purchasing sessions, hair and make-up. Our studio is available for other creatives to rent on an hourly basis, check out www.210creatives.com.
